Running post: To-Do List

Hey folks! I think I’m just going to keep a running to-do list up here, so I can keep track of what still needs to be done instead of just what has already been taken care of.

I’m doing bold next, italics are finished. Last updated: 13 September 2021

Yarn Sourcing

• Wait for new yarn to come in…

• Find a repeatable and economical yarn source.

• Figure out how much I’m willing to pay /kg of yarn

Selling

• Pick, start using a platform for selling goods. Squarespace? Etsy? Do a cost analysis.

• Figure out shipping. Stamps? Shipping in what container?

• Price out headbands / sweaters; How much am I willing to sell them for? How much are folks willing to buy them for?

• Actually sell a few headbands!

Mechanics

• Estimating quantity of yarn used for a sweater within the pattern module, based on 1. yarn properties like gauge and grist, 2. measurements.

• Implementing the ability to add panels in different styles (ie. colorwork, lace, etc.) in different places on the sweater. (13 September 2021: This is sort of a defunct goal because of the way I’ve set up my program, but there’s more about that in an upcoming blog post!)

• Part 2: Motors.

• Planning (then doing) Sweater 3

• Find someone else to make Sweater 4 for!

• A second, more refined sweater pattern system; Include an extra measurement?

Program

• Write the program!

• Fix the inevitably buggy program

• Write a new blog post about the program, because I think it’s neat and I’d like to share
