Whoops! Two weeks ago I forgot to pick an album and so I just didn’t do one of these last week. After that hiatus, I’m reviewing Tracy Chapman’s 1988 album (Named for herself).
You’ve heard lots of songs on this album- if you know Tracy’s name, you’ve probably heard most of them. It’s a great album, full of great songs. Honestly, there’s not a lot more to say. Top pick for this week is probably going to be If Not Now… because I find the structure to be really compelling and I haven’t heard it nearly as many times as some others on the album. If you haven’t heard this album yet, you should.
Other notable songs you’re less likely to have heard: For You, Mountains O’ Things.
Next week’s album: Truckin’ With Albert Collins, by… Albert Collins.
